Vintage World War II Swiss Army Pigeon Message Messenger Belly Capsule.  RARE, Unused.
Original Swiss Army Pigeon Messenger Message Belly Capsule Vest.  A Swiss Cross is stamped on the tube as shown in the pictures.  The Swiss military has used messenger pigeons since 1914, throughout WW II and for many years thereafter.  This is a New Old Stock (NOS) item that has never been used.  It is made out of a light metal, light grey in color and measures 3 inches long and 2 inches wide at its widest point.  This intricate, secret, "spy" capsule is attached to the breast of a carrier pigeon in proud fashion and secures with small fabric straps.  We have included some period shots showing the device in use during mid-century as well as a black & white illustration that this spectacular device made it onto!
The colored picture depicting the message capsule on the pigeon is just for modeling so the Pigeon is NOT included.  This is a seldom seen, very RARE item that is hard to find.  It is in new condition with minor storage marks.  A great military collectible that has stood the test of time, multiple wars and is still functional even today!
