    Howdy,
Here is an auction for one (1) Washington District of Columbia Quarter Dollar "Homage piece" or medallic issue prototype, in gem proof like condition, and inside a sturdy plastic coin capsule, as shown on the photos, originally designed by award winning digital artist Daniel Carr, and produced under license by major collectibles brand on 2004 only. A total of 2,250 pieces were made in an alloy base with 0.999 Silver plating finish ( these were also minted in 0.999 solid silver, but this auction is only for the Silverplated piece).
After the popularity of the 1st run of the 1999 State Quarters program, there some concerned citizens convinced congressmen to propose a an extension to the State Quarters program to include the Territories. Sadly this proposal was rejected at Congress.
By then, Mr. Daniel Carr, famous artist who designed both the New York and Rhode Island Quarters had also designed other quarters, to include Washigton D.C. and Puerto Rico.
Once the proposed territorial quarters was rejected, Mr. Daniel Carr was approached by a major collectibles brand, a private company that sells coins, bullion, and issues medallic homages for coin and exonumia collectors. A deal was struck and this private company issued this Washington D.C. as well as the Puerto Rico Quarters on 2004.
These quarters became super popular, but just as fast, it caught the eye of the Federal Government, which took the collectible company to court due to the emblematic American coinage phrases, which made these coins very similar to real coins, despite the obvious word "COPY" struck on Washington's head. A happy ending was found, in which the collectibles company had to modify the design, eliminating the phrases "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "IN GOD WE TRUST", "LIBERTY" and above all, the phrase "QUARTER DOLLAR" which was deemed illegal, as no medal issue should bear a real denomination currently in use. This resulted in its obverse changed for 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 (its last year), with the phrase "United States of America" changed for
"50 United States * One Nation" and the denomination "Quarter Dollar" changed for "51st State Quarter", making this
original Daniel Carr piece only struck for 2004, a truly hard to find hot seller in the market as years go by.
Later, on 2008, a new proposal to make territorial quarters was submitted and by then the State Quarters popularity was making U.S. Mint so much profit that they readily said yes, signifying that new designs for Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico had to be made, as Daniel Carr's designs were already made into private medal issues. Daniel Carr has persevered into issuing hundreds of designs by now, and even has his private mint, becoming without a doubt the most famous numismatic artist of this decade. His issues, usually made in a variety of different metals and finishes, but in limited quantities sell fast, and added to the fact that he has a small coin cult of followers, his creations have all risen in value almost as soon as they come out of the coin press.
Here is a rare chance to own one of his very first creations, already scarce and worth much more than when they initally came out. I
was able to find a few left over pieces from a now defunct coin dealer, which I am now selling here on Ebay. You will receive a beautifully preserved gem prooflike specimen, devoid of blemishes or scratches, in its original coin capsule, which may be a bit worn or scratched due to age. Sadly I do not have any orignal collectibles company certificicate of authenticity to ship with your purchase. I only uploaded partial photo of one so you can see the details along with Daniel Carr's signature.
Remember you are buying a Medal and NOT a real U.S. Mint Quarter Dollar.
Some people may call it a prop or a fantasy, but this is the very first design to win a contest to become Washington D.C.s quarter dollar! ... and only 2,250 proof pieces were ever made in silverclad finish! This collectible piece is an original, authentic Daniel Carr's medallic issue produced ,
sold out over 15 years ago!.
Buy yours while its still available.

    :
    SALUDOS,
