Description
Offered for sale this truly outstanding SHEAFFER TUCKAWAY pen(1250) and pencil(500) set from circa 1947. This set is a bit unusual. A plunger filler, the set has 1/4" bands, but doesn't have a white dot. Also open nibs are somewhat out of the ordinary for Tuckaways. Clearly postwar, I estimate about 1947, but it could be as late as early 1949 when the touchdowns took over. Plastic on both pieces is excellent as is all of the gold filled trim (couple of little scratches on the pencil tip). Imprints are clear and bold and there is a full name lady's monogram on the pen. A new seal will be required for the plunger filler before it will take up ink. The pencil works great. It uses .036" lead and has an eraser and extra lead under the cap. The nib is a two tone SHEAFFER'S 14K. It is a fine point, straight with good iridium, very firm. Comes in what is possibly the original box. Before bidding, please read below the payment instructions, return policy and information on international shipping.
