Saludos, esta subasta es por una (1) ficha de trolley & tren redonda, y en latón, tamaño 16.5mm, tiene 2 agujeros en media luna al centro, diciendo a un lado "For School Children Only" y por el otro el nombre de la compañía. La barra central dice a ambos lados "School". Variedad barra gruesa. Existe otra variedad, de barra fina, EA#735. Catalogada en el libro de tokens de transporte Estadounidense Atwood-Coffee con el número AT-640D. Aparece como "Escasa" en 1990, con valor de USD. USTED RECIBIRA UNA FICHA, COMO LA MOSTRADA POR LA FLECHA.

Howdy! This auction is for one (1) vintage token for the Puerto Rico RY.LT.&RR.CO. from 1920. This is the FAT (wide) middle bar variety. There is also a slim variety with a much narrower bar (over which the word School is imprinted) This token is over 5/8" diameter (16.5mm). It is imprinted the phrase "For School Children Only" on one side and Porto Rico RY LT & RR CO. on the opposite side. It is somewhat circulated, and may show either little corrosion, coloration, stains, and or small scratches or wear marks. You are bidding for just one token, similar to the one shown by the arrow.
BRIEF EXPLANATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IN PUERTO RICO ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, FROM WWII TO PRESENT DAY:
AS RELATIONS BETWEEN USA & GERMANY DETERIORATED JUST BEFORE WORLD WAR TWO, AMERICANS DECIDED TO IMPROVE THEIR DEFENSES IN PUERTO RICO AS THE KEY TO THE CARIBBEAN, & LAST STRONGHOLD PROTECTING THE PANAMA CANAL. THE US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS BUILT AN EXTENSIVE ROAD ENCIRLCLING THE ISLAND 2 MILES INLAND FROM ITS SHORES, PURPOSEDLY MADE TO AVOID NAVAL BOMBARDMENTS, TODAYS PR ROADS #1, 2 & 3. THAT WAY THEY COULD HAVE TROOPS MOVEMENTS FROM DIFFERENT BASES & FORTS AROUND THE TERRITORY WITHOUT USING THE TRAIN, WHOSE RAILS OFTEN COULD BE SEEN FROM THE COAST.
BY THE EALY 1950'S THE AMERICAN RAILROAD CO. ,CEASED TO EXIST, ITS TRAINS & WAGONS  BECOMING THE NEWEST ADDITIONS TO OTHER RAILROAD SYSTEMS, SUCH AS VENEZUELA AND COLOMBIA.
FROM THEN ON, MORE  HIGHWAYS  CRISS CROSSED THE ISLAND. THE "METROPOLITAN BUS AUTHORITY" ENTERED SERVICE, I GUESS, ON THE LATE 1940'S TO SERVE SAN JUAN, AND IN ACTUALLITY COVERS ABOUT 6 OR 7 TOWNS NEIGHBORING THE METROPOLITAN AREA, SERVING HALF THE POPULATION OF THE ISLAND OF 4 MILLION PEOPLE. ALSO THE "TREN URBANO" RAPID TRANSIT TRAIN SYSTEM COMPLIMENTS THE METROPOLITAN AREA, WITH 17 STATIONS.
