Description

Let me preface this by saying that I have dealt with vintage and antique militaria for years, from the US Civil War to Desert Storm, I've seen quite a bit, but this is truly one of a kind!!!
Up for your consideration is one of, if not the rarest historical pieces that I have ran across! This is an original, hand drawn pinup of a beautiful lady from a soldier in World War 2 !
What makes this even more special is that this was drawn on the back of a piece of stationary from the USS Pecos!
The Pecos was a US Naval Oiler that was sunk in battle by the Japanese on March 1st 1942. The Japanese dive bombers from the Kaga Aircraft dealt the Pecos its final blow.
Please take a minute to read up about the Pecos. It has a fascinating story and if you love history, this is definitely worth your time.
Can you imagine that a fella in the Navy spending some of his down time drawing this?! This may have even been tacked to the wall by his bunk on the ship! (He was a pretty good artist too!)
I'm not sure who exactly drew this, but it does appear to have some names scribbled at the top of the paper. I acquired this in a massive collection of militaria. I have included a photo of it next to a ruler so you can reference the size.
This is truly a one of a kind piece of history. There is not another one out there! If you collect World War 2 relics this would make an AMAZING addition to a collection. This would also appeal to a folk art collector as well!
