If you enjoy history this match book is a part of that. The Pioneer Hotel in Tucson was designed by Roy Place. It opened in 1929 making it one of the first "High Rise" buildings in Tucson. A disastrous fire set by an arsonist occurred in 1970, ranking it the deadliest in Arizona history, taking 29 lives. It was severely damaged and later converted into an office building. The ironic thing is that the front of the match book says it's fire proof. This match book has wear, as you can see by the pictures, but it is unused.
