Moon Silver Mini-Medallion. January 1971, Apollo XIV made the trip to the moon and returned. On one side is stamped a print of the moon's surface and on the other side is stamped the story of the silver that Apollo XIV carried aboard. The box and accompanying paperwork from the Franklin Mint are included. Condition is New. On the back of the medallion is inscribed: "This mini coin is made from a special melt containing silver that was carried to the moon on the flight of Apollo 14." The Limited Edition Mini-Coin accompanying the Certificate of Authenticity was made from a special melt of silver into which was placed 10,000 grains of silver that was carried aboard Apollo 14 on its voyage around the moon, August 28,1971. The medallion is secured in a hard cardboard case embossed with the date the medallion was made. This rare medallion would enhance the collection of a coin collector as well as a collector of all space shuttle and NASA memorabilia.
