POCKET LIGHTER:DUG AT NORMANDY. German? French? English?.
I bought this nice relic from a friend of mine who was fortunate enough to spend a week in Normandy metal detecting from the first days invasion-inland. He was able to dig up a lot of relics of this great campaign of WWII.
We had both thought this was some kind of locket when he sold it to me, but after piddling with it for a while the lighter mechanism swung out.
It has fancy embossing on both sides of it and I have no idea what it represents. It could be German, French, English, Canadian, I do not know what it is , but it makes a nice excellent display for your World War II collection.
Wife & I are retired now and downsizing, she says my 50+ years of digging and collecting war relics must go, so I guess its time to let someone else enjoy them now.
