LOUIS PASTEUR. Louis Pasteur (1822–1895) was a pioneering French microbiologist and chemist who demonstrated the germ theory of disease and developed the first vaccine against rabies.

Autograph note in French handwritten by Louis Pasteur on his engraved business card: “With my most sincere thanks”. The business card is imprinted with “Louis Pasteur, of the French Academy, and the Academy of Sciences”, measures 4” by 2.5”, and in fine condition with minor toning and evidence of mounting to the top border. Three similar business cards with handwritten notes by Pasteur recently sold for ,103 at International Autograph Auctions in September 2012, ,142 at RR Auction in April 2014, and ,323 at International Autograph Auctions in November 2017.
