    Description

    After the Apollo 1 fire, Apollo spacesuits were made, in part, with white Beta cloth, a type of fireproof silica fiber cloth. Beta cloth was developed by a Manned Spacecraft Center team led by Frederick S. Dawn working with the Owens-Corning and DuPont companies.
    Up for sale here is a gorgeous 5" x 6 3/4" color certificate showing two Apollo spacesuits on the front and some information about Beta cloth on the back.
    Attached to the front of the certificate is an authentic fragment of Beta cloth measuring about 1" x 7/8".
    NOTE: This is a sample of Beta cloth material. This fragment was not removed from an Apollo spacesuit, nor did this fragment fly in space.
