    Description

    Beautiful 5 1/4" x 7" full color certificate showing Apollo 16 astronaut John Young saluting the American flag, with the lunar module to his right on the front of the certificate. On the back of the certificate is some history of the Apollo 16 lunar mission.
    Attached to the front of the certificate is a fragment of gold Kapton foil, approximately
    1" x 7/8",
    removed from the lunar module, Orion, before launch.
    This piece of Kapton was removed BEFORE launch of the Apollo 16 mission, therefore it did NOT fly to the moon.
    The scan I've posted makes it appear that the Kapton is black. Actually it is shiny gold.
