    Description

    In December of 2015 I was afforded the opportunity to take a trip from Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan to the historic battleground from WWII and walk to the top of Mt Suribachi. I knew then, as my military career was coming to an end, that I would never get an opportunity like this, so I jumped at the chance. I collected this sand when I walked down to the beach to take a look at Futatsu Rock. With that said, this sand was collected somewhere between "Red 1, and Red 2".
